from a genocide. Her story is full of courage, faith and wisdom. In this blog post, we will study some of the lessons we can learn from Queen Esther and how we can apply them to our lives today.
Trust God’s plan for your life
Esther did not choose to become the queen of Persia. She was chosen by King Xerxes among many other young women who were brought to his palace. She did not reveal her Jewish identity to the king or anyone else, as instructed by her cousin and guardian Mordecai. She trusted that God had a purpose for her in this position, even though she did not understand it at firs
Seek God’s guidance in every situation
Esther faced many challenges and dangers as the queen of Persia. She learned that Haman, the king’s chief advisor, had plotted to kill all the Jews in the empire, including her and Mordecai. She also learned that she could not approach the king without his invitation, or she would risk being executed. She did not act impulsively or recklessly but sought God’s guidance through fasting and prayer. She asked Mordecai and all the Jews to join her in fasting for three days before she went to see the king.
Stand up for what is right, even if it is risky
Esther showed great courage and boldness when she approached the king and revealed her Jewish identity. She also exposed Haman’s evil plot and pleaded for the lives of her people. She risked losing her own life, but she was willing to sacrifice herself for a greater cause. She knew that God was with her and that he would deliver her and her people from their enemies.
Use your influence for good, not for evil
Esther used her influence as the queen of Persia for good, not for evil. She did not abuse her power or seek revenge against Haman or anyone else. She used her position to protect and bless her people. She also used her wisdom and tact to win the Favor of the king and his officials. She did not forget where she came from or who she belonged to. She remained humble and faithful to God and his people.
Queen Esther is a role model for all of us who want to live a godly and meaningful life. She teaches us to trust God’s plan for our lives, seek his guidance in every situation, stand up for what is right, even if it is risky, and use our influence for good, not for evil. Let us follow her example and be like her: “For such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14)
