Naaman

2 Kings 5 1-14

In this post I would like to share a few thoughts on the life of Naaman the commander of the army of Syria.

Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper.  (V.1)

1.Naaman was a lepor but he was productive or industrious

Despite his leprosy, Naaman did not let his condition affect his duties or isolate him from society. He remained active and engaged in his professional and personal life, without using his illness as an excuse to avoid challenges or opportunities.

He was a brave and skilled commander of the army of Aram, and he won many victories for his lord. He was respected and honoured by his people, who recognized his courage and loyalty.

2. A powerful officer who was willing to listen to the  good news to  the servant girl.

Naaman, the commander of the Syrian army, was a powerful and respected man in his country. But I think he also had a humble and teachable spirit. When he was afflicted with leprosy, he did not despise the advice of a young captive girl from Samaria, who told him to seek healing from the prophet Elisha. He followed her suggestion and was cured of his disease by obeying God’s instructions.
