God’s mission to Elijah

Elijah the Tishbite. We don’t read much about his genealogy. God’s commission upon Elijah is to confront the wicked king Ahab and prove to the nation of Israel that YAHWEH is God. It was not an easy task to confront the wicked king and his wife Jezabel. Elijah was convinced about his call and mission.

God’s Provision

God commissioned Elijah for a task. He also arranged provision for Elijah. God asked him to go the brook of Cherith and He commanded ravens to bring bread and meat to Elijah every day and Elijah survived on the water from brook Cherith as well.

When the brook got dried up God appointed a widow in Zarephath to feed Elijah. God met the basic needs of Elijah during the Mission.
