Peace with God

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” —Romans 5:1

One of the beautiful fruits of justification by grace through faith, as taught by the Apostle Paul, is this:

We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Before we were justified by God through Christ, we were in enmity with Him—separated by sin. But through Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross, the wrath of God was appeased, and reconciliation was made possible. The hostility ended, and peace was restored.

Centuries before Christ’s advent to this earth , the prophet Isaiah foretold this truth, calling Him the Prince of Peace. Through Jesus, we not only receive peace with God, but we also experience the peace of God in our daily lives.

Paul echoes this in Philippians:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:6–7
