Cheerful givers!

Exodus 36 : 1—7

Every morning the people of Israel brought the freewill offering to Moses. One day Moses Called Oholiab and Bezalel and other skilled personnel to handover the freewill offering people donated for the work of the sanctuary. They came back to Moses and told him that we have received more than what we require for the construction of the sanctuary and later Moses had to restrain the people from bringing anymore free will offering for the construction of the sanctuary.
It showed the stewardship and the honesty of these skilled men.

When we study the OT we can see that there are two types of giving, one is the compulsory giving such as the tithe and other one is the free will offering.
Here the people of Israel were very generous with their freewill offering. They donated threads to precious stones for the construction of the sanctuary. For the construction of the tabernacle all the goods and services were rendered by the people of Israel themselves. They were very enthusiastic and excited for giving whatever was required for the construction of the tabernacle. They knew for what cause their freewill offerings would be used.

In 2 Cor. 9: 7 we read that God loves a cheerful giver. God looks at the heart and motives of the giver.
