Job 1:7-12
Job was a God-fearing man who loved and worshipped the Lord, living an exemplary life on earth. One of his most notable traits was his desire to raise his children—seven sons and three daughters—in godliness.
It was customary for his sons to hold feasts in each other’s homes on their designated days, and they would invite their sisters to join them. After these celebrations/feast (Probably end of the week), Job would consecrate his children. He rose early in the morning to offer burnt offerings for each one, saying, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.”
Job was deeply concerned about the spiritual well-being of his children and took personal responsibility for nurturing their reverence for God. His example offers a powerful lesson for all parents: to raise their children in godliness and the fear of the Lord.
Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Deut 6 : 4-9
“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
Ephesians 6 1-4
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”
