“as servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way”

2 Corinthians 6: 3-8

Apostle Paul set a powerful example for many Christian workers. He labored tirelessly for the kingdom of God, never settling into a comfort zone during his ministry. He preached the gospel and ministered to churches not from a place of ease, but from a background marked by hardship and sacrifice.

Despite these trials, Paul and his team commended themselves as servants of God in every way:

” We are putting no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, but as servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labours, sleepless nights, hunger; by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, holiness of spirit, genuine love, truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; in honour and dishonour, in ill repute and good repute.” 2 Cor 6: 3-8

Just as athletes maintain composure during the most intense moments of a game—often securing victory through their calm and focus—Paul and his team demonstrated spiritual composure amid overwhelming adversity.

The pain and difficulty they endured were immense. Yet in every circumstance, they remained steadfast, commending themselves as true servants of God. They faced these challenges by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, holiness of spirit, genuine love, truthful speech, and the power of God. Paul emphasizes that it was through great endurance that they overcame such trials.
